What made you want to become a Tattoo Artist?
Artist:
To me it was always most interesting and I loved the atmosphere of the
studios.
BAW:
Who are your influences?
Artist:
My influences are Big Joe Kaplan, Louie Lombi, Zeke Owens, Ed Hardy, and
Kazoo Ogori.
BAW:
What is your favorite style of work?
Artist:
I enjoy all forms of tattooing and do not limit myself to any one style.
BAW:
Tell us about your first Tattoo experience?
Artist:
My First tattoo experience was excellent and scary. I was tattooing
letters on someone and had Louie Lombi looking over my shoulders it came
out awesome.
BAW:
What is your favorite piece you own?
Artist:
My Favorite tattoo on me is a Taurus to bull made out of clouds, which
represents my son who was born in Florida while on vacation. It was a
cloudy day in the sunshine state.
BAW:
What is your most memorable Tattoo given and why?
Artist: A large cross on
the back with mom and dad’s names in it. While I was tattooing this 18
yr old kid I saw that he was crying and asked if the tattoo hurt he
replied no I lost my parents today in a car crash.
BAW:
Is there a part of the body you won't Tattoo and why?
Artist:
Genitals will not do.
BAW:
What made you choose tattooing as a lifestyle?
Artist:
It was in my blood. My
Father was in the merchant marines and he was covered with tattoos and I
always thought it was an amazing way to record your history.
BAW:
Do you support supply co. that sells to the public?
Artist:
Yes and No. I only support
the known and reputable ones.
BAW:
Do you feel there now should be mandatory schooling for soon to be
tattoo artists?
Artist:
NO
BAW:
Do you feel Tattooing has changed over the years, and if so why?
Artist:
Tremendously cause everyone who gets into the business today only does
it cause they think they will be a superstar/rock star. Most do not have
the formal training of the old timers who had started this industry they
are now only in it for the money.
BAW:
Do you think it is important to do as many conventions and shows as
possible?
Artist:
Not at all.
BAW:
What advise can you give to someone who is starting or looking to get
into the tattoo business?
Artist:
Dedication. Dedicate your
body, heart, and soul. Submit
yourself to getting tattooed by respected and reputable artist who
believe in you and know you will bring the same to this industry.
BAW:
What could you say to someone who has had a bad first experience?
Artist: Check it out there are many good artist out
there. Don’t be misguided
by someone who is not reputable. Look
for a good artist who understands what you want to get
